first_imgAPTN National NewsThe Quebec Native Women’s Association has a new president.Michele Audette of Wendake, Que., was elected Sunday.Audette is a former president of the organization and the outgoing vice-president.She has been involved in many campaigns promoting the rights of Aboriginal women in Quebec.Most recently she was involved with the Marche Amun which saw a group of women march from Wendake to Ottawa in support of the McIvor decision.Mohawk activist Ellen Gabriel stepped down after serving three consecutive terms as president of the organization.last_img read more
