Gerrard insists stadium atmosphere is important for Rangers

first_imgRangers Football Club manager Steven Gerrard insists the fans have an important role to play if the team are to record a victory against Spartak Moscow on Thursday. The Gers host the Russian club at the Ibrox in their third game of this season’s UEFA Europa League campaign and a win or a draw will set a new club record of 11 unbeaten games in Europe during a single season.“I wouldn’t be standing here now as a Champions League winner without the atmosphere at Anfield – there’s no doubt about it,” Gerrard said, according to Daily Mail.“And another thing is that I wouldn’t be standing here doing this press conference if it wasn’t for the Ibrox crowd because they have certainly helped to get us where we are and if we have any ambitions of getting us out this group we need these fans to keep pushing us.”Top 5 Atletico Madrid players to watch in next week’s UCL Tomás Pavel Ibarra Meda – September 14, 2019 With the Champions League about to start, we need to start talking about the Top 5 Atletico Madrid players to watch in the competition.Atletico…“I was happy with every aspect of our last performance against Rapid. That’s the type of performance I am looking for. We managed to get in front and we scored late on. We did so much work in the first half, matching their aggression and grinding them down. We got our rewards late on. Of course, the atmosphere was excellent.”“All the talk afterwards was it was like the atmosphere of old. I don’t think Ibrox had been like that for a long time.”“I’d love nothing more than to see that atmosphere again tomorrow night, it’s a big lift for the players. It drives the team on. I felt it as a player myself, I know how much it pushes you on. We have to ignite it all though with our performance.”last_img read more

The voting signs are up and the San Diego County Registrar of Voters office is open. Aaron Morgan was one of the first people there.“I thought I would get a head start, be proactive and get an early start.”Anthony Blas says he wanted to get an early start on making sure his personal information was updated.” I came today to put in my change of address and my voting by mail paperwork so I can do my duty.”Early voting for the November 6th general election is now officially underway at 5600 Overland Avenue.“It took me about 5 to 7 minutes to vote. I thought it was a very efficient process” said Morgan. There are 326 items on the ballot throughout the entire county. That’s 52 questions on the ballot, 11 of them are state propositions and 41 of those are local measures.“We’re sending out 1.1 million mail ballots to the US Postal Service today so voters should be receiving those in the next couple of days” said Michael Vu, Registrar of Voters.Keep in mind if you are voting by mail, the official ballot for the general election this year is a two card ballot meaning there are two pages. That means that when you mail it back extra postage will be required — $0.71 to be exact. For those of you wanting a sample ballot pamphlet and voter information pamphlet, don’t worry, the office it’s still sending those out.“We are sitting at over 1.7 million registered voters. That’s the highest it’s ever been in any election we’ve conducted in the county. That number will of course increase by the time voter registration deadline happens on October 22nd” said the registrar of voters.Vu also says he expects to see close to a 75% turnout for this election and long lines on Election Day. He says voting now could save you the headache of a long wait at the polls.“The last time we had an open gubernatorial general election, we had a 64% turnout so I anticipate with the political climate out there, a lot close contests out there, a lot of high-profile races, a lot of questions to consider, I anticipate voters will turn out in this upcoming election.”last_img read more
