(Photo by Patrick McDermott/Getty Images)The New York Jets are searching high and low for their next head coach, and may be looking to raid the college ranks for their man.According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, the Jets have met with Baylor head coach Matt Rhule to discuss the head coaching vacancy.Rhule is coming off his second year as head coach of the Bears.He led the team to a 7-6 record in 2018 that included a thrilling win over Vanderbilt in the Texas Bowl.The Jets have in fact already discussed their head coaching vacancy with Baylor’s Matt Rhule. A native New Yorker with an impressive resume, including NFL coaching experience.— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) January 7, 2019Prior to his time with Baylor, Rhule spent four seasons as head coach of the Temple Owls.Before that, Rhule served as assistant offensive line coach for the New York Giants in 2012.Rhule has several connections to the Jets even now.He is a native-New Yorker, hailing from New York City, and coached Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson during his time at TempleThe Jets fired head coach Todd Bowles after finishing the season 4-12.
